The northern lights don't keep a schedule, and they don't care that it's a school night. This tour is built for that. We drive out of town to a dark spot with a warm room, so the kids can play cards and drink cocoa until the sky starts moving, then everyone goes out together.
Nobody can promise the lights. We watch the forecast and the clouds, and we'll tell you honestly if a night looks poor and help you move to a better one.
The day
- Pick-up after dinner, with a check of the forecast in the van
- Out of town to a dark spot away from the city's glow

- Back to town in the small hours, or earlier if the little ones fade

- Insulated boots, not sneakers
- Mittens rather than gloves
- A charged phone, and a spare battery kept in a pocket
